Early work on isotope effects at Brookhaven and BNL/Saclay interactions.
Résumé :
Research at Brookhaven National Laboratory on equilibrium and kinetic isotope effects
in the 1950’s and early 1960’s will be described, together with its connection to more
recent studies. The participation of Étienne Roth in this work will be included, and other
interchanges of personnel between Brookhaven and Saclay will be mentioned. Finally,
the observed non‐mass dependent oxygen isotope effects in the CO+OH reaction will be
discussed, and recent attempts to calculate these effects will be described.
